Linda Williams
Linda Williams, 67, died Monday 25th May at her home in Leyland, near Preston, Lancashire after a short illness. Her funeral service will be held this Friday at St Georges Church, New Road, Chorley, Preston followed by interment at Hill Road Cemetery, Preston.

Mrs. Williams was born on 12th September, 1947 in Glasgow, Scotland to Mary and Graham Smith. She gained a first class law degree from Manchester University in 1970 and had a successful career as a practice lawyer specialising in family law.

She married Paul Williams on December 8th 1972. They raised 3 daughters and went on to foster more than 25 children. Mrs Williams moved to Leyland in 1980 and was heavily involved in the local community working with disadvantaged children and was also a member of the local Rotary. In her spare time she enjoyed watercolour painting.

Her family paid this tribute to her, 'Linda was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, she opened her heart and her home to many children over the years and she will be sorely missed.'

She is survived by her husband and 3 daughters, Marie, Kim and Samantha.

Linda's family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations are sent to Florence Nightingale Hospice who helped her so much, or Great Ormond Street Hospital for the children she loved.
